The Technician is a highly intelligent Slugcat which is a rarity for the species & due to this he is able to repair any piece of technology or machinery given enough time & resources along with being able to understand & speak the language of the ancients. The Technician uses the satchel he has to store tools and resources along with food and other supplies. The Technician has a modified Overseer eye that he stores in his satchel and uses to record & log information he has learned. He can also use it to scan machinery to see what's wrong with them and how to possibly repair them along with being able to view information stored in pearls, this is why he knows a lot about the Iterators, Regions, The Machinery & Wildlife of the world.
